See The Forest For The Trees

Some time ago, we both fell on the ground and took a hold of the soil
As we grew, maybe we knew we snuck glances at each other
Wondering if we could ever get across that lonesome distance
After a long time of sleeping, our shuddering hands finally began to mingle
I remember the first time you swayed in the breeze, and I pulled you closer in embrace

Now I've got an idea, and I have a feeling you'll agree
No more sleep, darlin'; our eyes have been closed far too long
Let us wake to this life; pick up our roots and stride
You know they want to hold us back, but they haven't got the fiercest fires to burn us down
They don't understand so we have to hold on to the sturdy strength placed within our frames

Ready is the word we carry now
Steady in the wind we walk through
